Google Announces Enhanced Campaigns

Today Google announced an upgrade to AdWords called Enhanced Campaigns. Enhanced Campaigns are designed to help advertisers “more simply and smartly manage [their] ad campaigns in today’s multi-device world.” With Enhanced Campaigns, advertisers will be able to send the right ad to the right person based on variables including location, time of day and device type. All of this can be done without having to set up and manage multiple campaigns.

Key features of the Enhanced Campaigns include:

  • Better management of campaigns and budgets for multiple devices
  • Ability to show ads across multiple devices with the right ad text, site link, app or extension without having to edit campaigns for all possible combinations of device, location and time of day
  • Ability to count calls and app downloads as conversions in AdWords reports

Google SVP of Engineering Sridhar Ramaswamy said, “Our theme here is that the consumers have already shifted their mindsets in looking at their devices as interchangeable. They don’t go to a tablet thinking they’ll get tablet results. We want to give advertisers a chance to think the same way and not in terms of devices but how and when to reach my consumers.”

Working closely with Google, Qiigo has already begun to address client needs related to the transition to Enhanced Campaigns. After meeting with Google representatives previous to today’s announcement, Qiigo has a running start in positioning their clients for success with the new program. “Our close relationship with Google put us in a position to begin working on transition items prior to today’s announcement,” remarked Rick Batchelor, CEO of Qiigo. “We are confident the impact to individual client accounts will be a positive one.”

Current Qiigo clients with questions are encouraged to reach out to their Account Manager.
