The IAB’s most recent Internet Advertising Report revealed exciting news for the internet advertising industry. Internet ad revenues reached an all-time high in the first six months of 2013. Total internet ad revenues came in at $20.1 billion during this period. This represents an 18% increase of revenues in the first half of 2012 ($17 billion).

Mobile advertising continues to soar with 145% growth in the first half of 2013. Mobile ad revenues rose to $3 billion, up from $1.2 billion in the first half of 2012. According to Randall Rothenberg, President and CEO of IAB, “Mobile advertising’s breakneck growth is evidence that marketers are recognizing the tremendous power of smaller screens.”

Another area of growth was digital video advertising, a component of display advertising. Digital video advertising totaled $1.3 billion in revenue during this period up from $1.1 billion in 2012, a 24% increase. Also increasing were search revenues. In the first half of 2013, search revenues totaled $8.7 billion. This represents an increase of 7% over the $8.1 billion in revenue over the same period in 2012.
